Global Problem Solvers | GPS 5.0

A Progressive, 4-Level Problem-Solving Journey for Ages 10–16

Overview

Global Problem Solvers (GPS 5.0) is a 6D.Thinking–powered, real‑world problem‑solving program designed for Under‑16 Learners. The program immerses students in authentic, real‑world ecosystems and progressively builds their ability to Observe, Understand, Design, and Deliver Solutions to complex problems.

Learners move through four expanding ecosystems—from their immediate surroundings to global cities—developing not only problem‑solving skills, but also the mindset, work culture, and civic awareness required to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

At the core of GPS 5.0 is the complete 6D Work Cycle, ensuring learners experience work the way it happens in the real world:

Discover - Define - Design - Derive - Develop - Deliver

Across 8 seasons and approximately 180 hours, students engage in structured, hands‑on projects with increasing complexity, scale, and stakeholder interaction, preparing them to become future‑ready problem solvers.

GPS 5.0 is Designed For

Curious, Open-minded Learners between the Ages of 10 and 16, and for Parents and Institutions that value Life-time Capability Building with Strong Foundations towards Life & Problem-Solving.

Why GPS 5.0

  • Moves beyond Classroom Learning into Real‑World Ecosystems

  • Builds early exposure to Work, Systems, and Stakeholders

  • Develops Problem-Solvers, NOT Rote-Learners

  • Scales learning from Local aka Gully to Global contexts

  • Society 5.0 - The world where Gen-Alpha lives and thrives

  • Solving Problems with and without Technology

Society 5.0

Society 5.0 is a visionary blueprint for the future that goes beyond traditional industrial and information societies, aiming to create a human-centered “Super Smart Society.” It was first proposed by the Government of Japan as part of its national science and technology strategy to address real-world challenges using advanced digital technologies.

In Society 5.0, cyberspace (digital world) and physical space (real world) are highly integrated, enabling data, AI, robots, and IoT systems to solve complex societal challenges — from healthcare and mobility to sustainability and education — in ways that improve lives everywhere.

Unlike past eras (from hunting and agriculture to industry and information), Society 5.0 focuses on optimizing human well-being through technology, ensuring that innovations benefit people of all ages, backgrounds, and geographies.

Why it matters to GPS 5.0 and 5.OIL

The GPS 5.0 program is rooted in the principles of Society 5.0, preparing learners to live, work, and contribute in a future where:

  • Human creativity works hand-in-hand with intelligent machines

  • Data and digital tools empower problem solving

  • Solutions are human-centered, inclusive, and sustainable

This alignment ensures that students are not just learning skills but are becoming future impact creators equipped to thrive in a super-smart, interconnected world.

Key Features of Society 5.0

  • Human-Centered Design: Technology is used to enhance quality of life and solve social challenges.

  • Integration of Digital and Physical Worlds: Advanced analytics and AI improve real-world systems and services.

  • Societal Innovation: Innovations are applied beyond industry to areas like mobility, civic services, and sustainability.
